Sebastian Elikowski-Winkler studied composition with Friedrich Goldmann in Berlin, Marek Kopelent in Prague and Vladimir Tarnopolski in Moscow. Additional studies of musicology, history of art and architecture in Berlin. He mainly wrote chamber music for which he received several prizes and awards. Scholarships led him among other places to Moscow and Paris.
Sebastian Elikowski-Winkler recieved the 2015 Cišinski-Förderpreis from the Foundation for the Sorbish Folk.
